Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Heavy-Lift Carrier, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The 2nd Engineer will report to the Chief Engineer and assist with the overall management of the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include monitoring and maintaining the vessel's engines, pumps, and other machinery, as well as performing routine repairs and maintenance tasks. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and oilers, and for ensuring that all engine department personnel are following safe working practices. In addition, the 2nd Engineer will be required to keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work, and to report any issues or concerns to the Chief Engineer.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate, such as a Chief Engineer's certificate of competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a similar type of vessel.
- Must have a strong knowledge of engine maintenance and repair, including diesel engines and associated systems.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and supervise junior engineers and oilers.
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
