Role overview
We are seeking a skilled 2nd Engineer to join our team on a General Cargo Vessel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the vessel's engine department. This is a key role that requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills.
As a 2nd Engineer, your day-to-day duties will include overseeing the maintenance and repair of engine room equipment, managing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. You will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and motormen, and providing technical guidance and support as needed. Additionally, you will be required to maintain accurate records and reports of engine department activities.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a similar type of vessel
- Must have a strong knowledge of engine room operations and maintenance
- Must have excellent leadership and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
