Day‑to‑day duties involve conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting equipment failures, and supervising junior engine crew during watch rotations. The role requires preparing daily reports, maintaining spare parts inventory, and coordinating planned maintenance with the ship’s technical manager. You will also be expected to participate in emergency drills and respond to any mechanical incidents at sea.

Requirements
- OK**
- OK- STCW 2010 certification with advanced fire‑fighting endorsement
- OK- Engine Officer Certificate of Competency (2nd Engineer) valid for oil/chemical tankers
- OK- Minimum 2 years sea service as 2nd Engineer on oil or chemical tankers
- OK- Working knowledge of IMO MARPOL, ISGOTT and tank cleaning procedures
- OK- Good medical fitness and ability to work a 4‑hour watch system
