Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on our oil tanker vessel. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and experience in managing and maintaining complex engine systems. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of engine room equipment, managing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. They will also supervise junior engineers and oilers, providing guidance and training as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will be involved in voyage planning, navigating through busy shipping lanes and ports.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a tanker vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of engine room operations and maintenance.
- Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Must be in possession of a valid medical certificate.
