Role overview
The 2nd Officer is a key member of the bridge team on a Container Ship, responsible for navigation and cargo operations. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills. The 2nd Officer will work closely with the Master and other officers to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
The 2nd Officer's day-to-day duties include navigating the vessel, monitoring cargo operations, and maintaining navigational equipment. The 2nd Officer will also be responsible for performing bridge watches and contributing to the development of voyage plans. Additionally, the 2nd Officer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to maintain a high level of preparedness.

What we look for
- Hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency.
- Have at least 12 months of experience as a 2nd Officer on a container ship or similar vessel type.
- Possess a valid medical certificate and be fit for duty at sea.
- Have a strong understanding of navigation, cargo operations, and safety procedures.
- Be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
