The 3rd Engineer will assist in operating and maintaining the main propulsion plant and auxiliary machinery on a modern oil/chemical tanker. You will work under the Chief Engineer to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant vessel operations.

Daily duties include monitoring engine performance, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance on main engines, generators, and cargo pumps. You will troubleshoot mechanical issues, record technical data, and support the crew during cargo operations. Participation in watch rotations and emergency drills is also required.

Requirements

  • OKSTCW 96/98 certificates and a valid Third Engineer Certificate of Competency (Manning)
  • OKMinimum 2 years sea service on oil or chemical tankers, with recent experience in main engine operation
  • OKStrong knowledge of IMO, MARPOL, and ISGOTT regulations applicable to tankers
  • OKAbility to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on diesel engines, boilers, and cargo handling equipment
  • OKGood communication skills, basic computer literacy, and a valid medical fitness certificate
