Role overview
The 3rd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crewell Oil tanker. This role involves maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. The 3rd Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer and is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the engine department.
The 3rd Engineer's day-to-day duties include performing routine maintenance and repairs on engines and equipment, monitoring fuel consumption and optimizing engine performance. The 3rd Engineer also assists with cargo operations and ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Additionally, the 3rd Engineer participates in drills and training exercises to maintain emergency preparedness.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a 3rd Engineer on a merchant vessel
- Must have completed all required STCW training courses
- Must hold a valid medical certificate
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
