- OKMust hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency.
- OKMust have at least 12 months of experience as a 3rd Officer on a merchant vessel.
- OKMust have a valid medical certificate.
- OKMust have completed all required STCW training courses.
- OKMust have a good understanding of ISM and ISPS codes.
