The 4th Engineer will support the engine department on a modern container ship, assisting in the operation and maintenance of main and auxiliary machinery. You will work under the Chief Engineer to ensure plant reliability during voyages.

Daily duties include monitoring engine performance, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance on pumps, compressors and generators. You will record technical data, assist with repairs, and help maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Participation in watch rotations and emergency drills is also required.

Requirements

  • OKSTCW 2010 Certificate of Competency to 4th Engineer (or equivalent)
  • OKValid Engine Officer’s Certificate of Competency for a container ship
  • OKMinimum 2 years sea service as a junior engineer on a container vessel
  • OKBasic knowledge of MARPOL, ISM and safety management systems
  • OKGood English communication skills, both written and spoken
