The 4th Engineer will support the engine department on a modern crude oil tanker, ensuring safe and efficient operation of main and auxiliary plant. You will work under the Chief Engineer, assisting with maintenance, repairs, and compliance with international regulations.
Daily duties include monitoring engine performance, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance on pumps, compressors and cargo handling equipment. You will keep accurate machinery logs, assist in watch rotations, and respond to any breakdowns or emergencies at sea. The role also involves preparing spare parts inventories and supporting the Chief Engineer during audits.

Requirements

- OK- Valid Engine Officer’s Certificate of Competency (4th Engineer) and STCW 2010 endorsement.
- OK- Minimum 1 year experience as 4th Engineer or 2 years as Junior Engineer on a crude oil or product tanker.
- OK- Good knowledge of marine diesel engines, auxiliary machinery, and cargo pump systems.
- OK- Ability to read and complete technical documentation, logbooks, and safety reports.
- OK- Basic proficiency in English (spoken and written) and teamwork skills.
