Role overview
The Bosun is a key member of the deck team on our Container Ship, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel. This role requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Bosun will work closely with the Chief Officer to ensure the smooth operation of the ship.
The Bosun's day-to-day duties will include supervising deck crew, performing maintenance tasks, and ensuring the safety of the vessel and its cargo. The Bosun will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the vessel's equipment and systems, including cranes, winches, and cargo gear. Additionally, the Bosun will participate in cargo operations, including loading and unloading containers.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Bosun or Able Seaman certificate of competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Bosun or similar role on a container ship.
- Must have a valid STCW certificate, including proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats.
- Must have a good understanding of cargo operations and container ship procedures.
- Must be physically fit and able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
