** Experienced Chief Engineer needed to lead engine department on a 10,000‑TEU container vessel for a 4‑month contract.

You will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance and performance of the main and auxiliary machinery on a modern container ship. The role includes supervising the engine crew, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and optimizing fuel consumption.
Day‑to‑day duties involve planning and executing planned maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and maintaining detailed technical logs. You will conduct daily inspections, oversee repairs, and coordinate with the deck department for safe vessel operations. Reporting to the Chief Officer and shipowner’s technical manager, you will ensure all certifications and documentation are up to date.

Requirements
- OK**
- OK- Valid Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (STCW) for unlimited tonnage
- OK- Minimum 5 years experience as Chief Engineer on a container ship of 5,000 + GT
- OK- Proficiency with IMO regulations, MARPOL, ISM and ISPS codes
- OK- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team of 8‑12 engineers and ratings
- OK- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engine performance data and maintenance software
