The Chief Engineer will be the senior technical officer on a modern container ship, responsible for the overall performance of the main and auxiliary machinery. You will lead the engine department, ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and report directly to the Captain.
Daily duties include planning and supervising daily maintenance, monitoring fuel consumption, and troubleshooting any equipment failures. You will manage the engine room crew, conduct drills, and maintain accurate technical records. Coordination with the ship’s navigation team for optimal speed and fuel efficiency is also required.

Requirements
- OKSTCW/CoC: Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (Rank 1) with valid endorsement for container vessels
- OKMinimum 5 years sea service as Chief Engineer on a container ship of 5,000 GT or larger
- OKProven experience with diesel‑electric propulsion and advanced automation systems
- OKCurrent medical fitness certificate and valid seafarer’s identity document
- OKStrong leadership, communication skills and fluency in English
