The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance and performance of the main and auxiliary machinery on a crude oil tanker. You will lead the engine department, ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and support the ship’s commercial objectives.
Daily duties include supervising the watchkeeping team, planning and executing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting any mechanical failures that arise at sea. You will monitor fuel consumption, manage spare parts inventory, and prepare technical reports for the shipowner. Coordination with the deck department for cargo operations and stability management is also required.

Requirements
- OK- STCW “Basic Safety Training” and a valid Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (CoC) for tankers
- OK- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Chief Engineer on a crude oil tanker of 20,000 DWT or more
- OK- Proven knowledge of IMO MARPOL, SOLAS and ISM Code requirements
- OK- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing a multicultural engine crew
- OK- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
