Role overview

The Chief Engineer is a senior management position on our Oil tanker vessel, responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the ship's engine department. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. The Chief Engineer will work closely with the Captain and other officers to ensure safe and efficient vessel operation.

The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing engine maintenance, managing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing engine problems, as well as supervising junior engineers and oilers. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to maintain emergency preparedness.
