Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the General Cargo Vessel. This role involves overseeing cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Chief Officer will also assist the Master in making key decisions regarding the vessel's operation.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharge, performing safety inspections, and maintaining accurate records of cargo and deck operations. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and coordinating with other crew members to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, the Chief Officer will participate in drills and training exercises to maintain emergency preparedness.

What we look for
- Holder of a valid Chief Officer's Certificate of Competency
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a similar type of vessel
- Strong knowledge of cargo operations, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
