Role overview

The Fitter/Welder will be part of the deck department on a General Cargo Vessel, responsible for maintaining and repairing ship equipment. This role requires a skilled tradesperson with experience in fitting and welding. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ship systems and equipment.

The day-to-day duties of the Fitter/Welder will include performing repairs and maintenance on deck equipment, such as cranes and winches, as well as piping and hydraulic systems. The Fitter/Welder will also be responsible for fabricating and welding parts as needed, and will work closely with other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. Additionally, the Fitter/Welder will be expected to maintain a clean and organized workspace, and to follow all safety protocols.
