Role overview

The Master is responsible for the safe operation of the Bulk carrier, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. The Master will oversee all deck operations, including cargo handling and navigation. The Master will also be responsible for the overall management of the vessel.

The Master's day-to-day duties at sea will include navigating the vessel, managing the crew, and ensuring the safe handling of cargo. The Master will also be responsible for monitoring weather conditions, managing fuel consumption, and maintaining the vessel's safety equipment. The Master will additionally conduct regular drills and training exercises to ensure the crew is prepared for emergency situations.

  • Must hold a valid Master's certificate of competency issued by a recognized maritime authority.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Master on a bulk carrier vessel.
  • Must have completed all required STCW training courses, including crisis management and crowd management.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, including SOLAS and MARPOL.
  • Must have excellent leadership and communication skills.
