The Pumpman is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the cargo and ballast pump systems on an oil tanker. You will work closely with the deck crew to ensure cargo handling complies with company and regulatory standards.
Daily duties include monitoring pump performance, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and associated piping. You will respond to alarms, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and keep accurate logs of pump operations. Coordination with the chief engineer and deck officers is required to plan maintenance windows and support cargo operations.

Requirements

- OK- Valid STCW Pumpman Certificate for oil tankers (or equivalent)
- OK- Minimum 2 years experience as Pumpman on oil tankers
- OK- Completed Basic Safety Training, Fire Fighting and First Aid certificates
- OK- Ability to read pump schematics and perform minor repairs independently
- OK- Good physical fitness and strong communication skills
