Responsibilities include monitoring engine performance, overseeing fuel and cargo handling systems, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Daily duties involve supervising watch‑keeping engineers, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance on main and auxiliary machinery. You will troubleshoot breakdowns, manage spare parts inventory, and prepare daily technical reports for the bridge and shore office. Coordination with the deck department for cargo operations and ballast management is also required.

Requirements

  • OKSTCW 95/96 certification and valid 2nd Engineer (Engine) Certificate of Competency
  • OKMinimum 3 years sea service as 2nd Engineer on oil or chemical tankers
  • OKProven experience with diesel‑electric propulsion and cargo pump systems
  • OKFamiliarity with MARPOL, ISGOTT and company safety management systems
  • OKGood communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural crew
