You will monitor the performance of the refrigeration plant and ensure compliance with cargo temperature requirements. The role involves maintaining engine room safety standards on a vessel equipped with dual fuel generators.

Daily duties include routine inspection of main and auxiliary engines, generators, and the reefer system. You will assist in troubleshooting mechanical failures, carry out planned maintenance, and keep accurate engine room logs. Coordination with the deck department for cargo temperature checks and reporting is also required.

Requirements

  • OKValid STCW 2008 Certificate of Competency as 2nd Engineer (or equivalent).
  • OKEngine Officer’s Certificate (2nd Engineer) endorsed for diesel‑electric propulsion.
  • OKReefer plant certification or documented experience on refrigerated vessels.
  • OKMinimum 2 years sea service as 2nd Engineer on a cargo ship.
  • OKBasic knowledge of MARPOL, ISM, and safety management systems.
