The 3rd Engineer assists the Chief Engineer in operating and maintaining the main and auxiliary machinery on a double‑hull oil/chemical tanker. You will support safe cargo handling, monitor plant performance, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Daily duties include routine inspections of pumps, compressors and generators, performing preventive maintenance, and recording all technical data in the ship’s log. You will troubleshoot equipment failures, coordinate repairs with the 2nd Engineer, and supervise junior ratings during watch changes. The role also requires participation in safety drills and reporting any non‑conformities to the bridge and management.

Requirements
- OK**
- OK- STCW 2010 certification, Engine Officer’s Certificate of Competency (3rd Engineer)
- OK- Minimum 2 years sea service on oil or chemical tankers as 3rd Engineer or equivalent
- OK- Proficiency with diesel engine monitoring systems and automation controls
- OK- Knowledge of MARPOL, ISGOTT and tank cleaning procedures
- OK- Good command of English, both written and spoken
