The Bosun will supervise deck crew on a 9,000‑TEU container vessel, ensuring safe handling of cargo and maintenance of deck equipment. You will report directly to the Chief Officer and coordinate watch schedules and safety drills.
Daily duties include overseeing mooring and anchoring operations, conducting routine inspections of deck gear, and leading cargo securing and lashing procedures. You will manage the deck crew’s training, enforce compliance with STCW standards, and maintain the ship’s safety management system. Additionally, you will handle routine repairs, paint work, and inventory of spare parts and safety equipment.

Requirements

- OK- STCW Basic Safety Training and valid Bosun (Boatswain) Certificate of Competency (CoC)
- OK- Minimum 3 years experience as Bosun on container or similar vessels
- OK- Proven ability to lead a deck crew and conduct safety drills
- OK- Good knowledge of cargo securing, mooring, and deck machinery maintenance
- OK- Physical fitness, ability to work in all weather conditions, and basic computer literacy
