You will ensure the vessel meets performance, safety and environmental standards throughout the voyage. The role reports directly to the Master and collaborates with the ship’s management team.
Daily duties include supervising the engine department, planning and executing maintenance schedules, and monitoring fuel consumption and emissions. You will conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot equipment failures, and oversee repairs in accordance with approved procedures. Documentation, reporting and compliance with flag state and classification society requirements are also part of the routine.

Requirements
- OKSTCW 2/2 Engineer Officer Certificate with valid Chief Engineer endorsement
- OKMinimum 5 years sea service as Chief Engineer on bulk carriers
- OKProven experience with diesel propulsion, auxiliary systems and fuel management
- OKAbility to lead the engine department, train junior staff and enforce safety regulations
- OKGood health, medical fitness and ability to pass a drug test
