The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the main and auxiliary machinery on a modern container ship. You will ensure the plant runs safely, efficiently and in compliance with all regulations.
Daily duties include supervising the engine department, planning and executing preventive maintenance, and monitoring fuel consumption and emissions. You will conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot equipment failures, and maintain detailed technical records. Coordination with the deck department for bunkering and cargo operations is also required.

Requirements
- OKSTCW 2nd Class Engine Officer Certificate and Chief Engineer Unlimited CoC
- OKMinimum 5 years experience as Chief Engineer on container ships of 5,000 GT or more
- OKDemonstrated ability to manage engine department, maintenance planning and fuel efficiency programs
- OKKnowledge of IMO, MARPOL, and condition‑monitoring systems
- OKStrong leadership, communication skills and ability to work with a diverse crew
