Daily duties include supervising the engine department crew, planning and executing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting any machinery failures that arise at sea. The role requires daily monitoring of plant performance, managing spare parts inventory, and preparing technical reports for the shipowner. Coordination with the deck department for cargo handling and ballast operations is also essential.

Requirements
- OK- Valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (STCW) 2000 or higher, endorsed for oil tankers.
- OK- Minimum 5 years senior engineering experience on crude oil tankers of 150,000 dwt or greater.
- OK- Proven track record of safe machinery operation and compliance with IMO and flag state regulations.
- OK- Strong leadership skills with ability to manage a multicultural engine department crew.
- OK- Good knowledge of condition‑based monitoring systems and experience with electronic engine control systems.
