The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance and performance of the main and auxiliary machinery on a 200,000‑dwt crude oil tanker. You will lead the engine department, ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and report directly to the Master.
Daily duties include supervising the engine crew, planning and executing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and managing fuel and lube oil consumption. You will oversee the watch schedule, conduct regular inspections, and maintain accurate technical logs. Coordination with the shore office for spare parts and technical support is also required.

Requirements
- OKChief Engineer Certificate of Competency (STCW) valid for tankers
- OKIMO 2020 compliance and valid medical certificate
- OKMinimum 5 years experience as 2nd Engineer on crude oil tankers
- OKProven ability to lead a multicultural engine crew
- OKStrong knowledge of diesel‑electric and steam turbine systems
