The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance and performance of the main and auxiliary machinery on a modern oil/chemical tanker. You will lead the engine department, ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and keep the vessel’s propulsion system running efficiently.
Daily duties include supervising the engine crew, planning and executing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and managing spare parts inventory. You will monitor engine performance data, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with the deck department during cargo operations. The role also involves conducting drills, maintaining certification records, and ensuring all equipment meets class and flag requirements.

Requirements
- OK**
- OK- Valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) for oil/chemical tankers, STCW 2010 endorsed.
- OK- Minimum 5 years experience as Chief Engineer on oil or chemical tankers of 30,000 gt or larger.
- OK- Proven knowledge of IMO MARPOL, ISM and ISPS codes and ability to implement them at sea.
- OK- Strong leadership and crew‑management skills with fluency in English (spoken and written).
- OK- Familiarity with modern diesel‑electric or dual‑fuel propulsion systems and condition‑monitoring software.
