The Chief Engineer will be the senior technical officer on a double‑hull oil/chemical tanker, responsible for the safe operation of all main and auxiliary plant. You will ensure compliance with classification society rules, flag state regulations and the company’s technical policies.

Daily duties include supervising the engine department, planning and executing maintenance, and monitoring performance of propulsion and cargo handling systems. You will conduct regular inspections, manage spare parts inventory and oversee repairs during voyages. Reporting to the Master and the company’s technical office, you will keep accurate logs and submit performance reports.

Requirements

  • OK- Valid STCW 2010 Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer for tankers (IMO 2/2)
  • OK- Minimum 5 years sea service as Chief Engineer on oil or chemical tankers
  • OK- Proven knowledge of MARPOL, ISGOTT and SOLAS regulations
  • OK- Strong leadership and crew‑management skills
  • OK- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals
