Employer notes

The electrician will maintain and repair the vessel’s electrical plant, including generators, distribution panels and automation systems. Work is performed on a modern, multi‑purpose cargo ship that operates in Asian and regional trade routes. You will report to the Chief Engineer and coordinate with the deck crew for safe operations.

Daily duties include troubleshooting faults, performing preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment, and installing or modifying wiring as required for cargo handling gear. You will conduct routine inspections, test protective devices and keep accurate logs of all work performed. Emergency response to electrical incidents and participation in safety drills are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • OKSTCW 95 Electrical Engineer/Marine Electrician Certificate (or equivalent)
  • OKMinimum 2 years experience as a shipboard electrician on general cargo or similar vessels
  • OKAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams and PLC manuals
  • OKCurrent Medical Certificate and basic safety training (Firefighting, Survival)
  • OKGood physical condition and ability to work in confined spaces
