The Fitter/Welder will join the deck department of a 9,000‑TEU container vessel, performing structural repairs and fabrications to keep the ship seaworthy. You will work closely with the chief engineer and deck officers to ensure all metalwork meets class and safety standards.
Daily duties include cutting, shaping, and welding steel plates and pipes, repairing deck fittings, and maintaining welding equipment. You will also inspect welds for quality, record work in the ship’s log, and assist in emergency repairs during voyages. All tasks are performed in accordance with the vessel’s maintenance plan and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
- OK- Valid STCW 2010 Basic Safety Training and Marine Engineer/Ship Fitter Certificate
- OK- Minimum 2 years experience welding and fitting on container ships or similar vessels
- OK- Proficiency in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW and pipe fitting techniques
- OK- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- OK- Good physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces
