The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The 2nd Engineer will report to the Chief Engineer and assist with the overall management of the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines and equipment, monitoring and analyzing performance data, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for managing fuel and lubricant supplies, and ensuring that all engine department operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to maintain the vessel's high safety standards.

Requirements
- OKA valid STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer is required.
- OKA minimum of 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel.
- OKA strong understanding of engine operations and maintenance, including fuel management and troubleshooting.
- OKA high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- OKA valid medical certificate and completion of all required safety training are also necessary.
