The 2nd Engineer will support the Chief Engineer in operating and maintaining the main propulsion plant and auxiliary systems of a modern container ship. You will ensure compliance with all technical and safety standards while at sea and in port.
Daily duties include monitoring engine performance, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance on generators, pumps, and HVAC units. You will supervise junior engine crew, manage spare parts inventory, and assist in troubleshooting any machinery breakdowns. Accurate logging of operating data and preparation of reports for the ship’s safety management system are also required.

Requirements
- OK**
- OK- Valid STCW 1995 certificates: Engine Officer, Advanced Fire Fighting, Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats.
- OK- 2nd Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC) issued by a recognized maritime authority.
- OK- Minimum 2 years experience as 2nd Engineer on container ships of 5,000 GT or greater.
- OK- Proven ability to operate and maintain main engine, auxiliary machinery, and control systems.
- OK- Strong knowledge of IMO regulations, safety management, and engine room documentation.
