The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Liquified Natural Gas carrier, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of LNG cargo handling and management. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure all engine department tasks are completed.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines and associated equipment, monitoring and analyzing performance data, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and motormen, and providing guidance and training as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in cargo operations, including loading and discharging LNG cargo.

Requirements
- OKRelevant STCW/CoC certificate for a 2nd Engineer on a gas tanker.
- OKAt least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a similar type of vessel.
- OKStrong knowledge of LNG cargo handling and management.
- OKAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
- OKHigh school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in marine engineering or a related field preferred.
