The 2nd Engineer assists the Chief Engineer in operating and maintaining the main and auxiliary machinery of a modern oil/chemical tanker. You will ensure safe, efficient propulsion and cargo handling systems are ready for each voyage.
Monitor engine performance, conduct routine inspections and adjust parameters to meet fuel and emission standards. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns and supervise junior engine staff during watch rotations. Keep accurate logs, report any deficiencies and coordinate repairs with shore support.

Requirements
- OKValid STCW 95/96 endorsement and a current 2nd Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC) for oil/chemical tankers.
- OKMinimum 3 years sea service as 2nd Engineer on oil or chemical tankers.
- OKProven experience with main engine, auxiliary boilers, fuel oil and cargo pump systems.
- OKAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and safety data sheets.
- OKGood command of English, both spoken and written, for bridge‑engine communication.
