You will ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and statutory regulations while optimizing fuel consumption and plant efficiency.
Daily duties include supervising the engine department crew, planning and executing preventive maintenance, and overseeing repairs during voyages. You will monitor engine parameters, manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with the chief officer on cargo‑related power requirements. Reporting to the ship’s captain, you will keep detailed logs and submit performance reports to the company’s technical office.

Requirements
- OKSTCW 95/96 certification and a valid Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency for oil/chemical tankers (IMO 2/2)
- OKMinimum 5 years experience as Chief Engineer on oil/chemical tankers of 20,000 gt or larger
- OKProven knowledge of MARPOL, ISM and ISPS regulations and their application on tankers
- OKStrong leadership skills with experience managing a multicultural engine department crew
- OKAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and maintenance manuals
