The Cargo Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the LNG cargo plant on a modern LNG carrier. You will oversee cargo loading, unloading, and gas handling systems while ensuring compliance with international regulations. The role requires close coordination with the deck and engine departments.

Daily duties include monitoring cargo temperature and pressure, conducting routine inspections of cryogenic pipelines, and managing cargo transfer procedures. You will perform preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and reliquefaction equipment, and troubleshoot any deviations in real time. Documentation of cargo operations and reporting to the chief officer are also part of the routine.

Requirements

  • OKSTCW/Marine Engineer Certificate (Class 1) with LNG endorsement
  • OKMinimum 3 years experience on LNG carriers or similar gas‑carrying vessels
  • OKProficiency with cargo handling and reliquefaction systems
  • OKAbility to conduct pre‑cargo checks, emergency drills, and incident reporting
  • OKGood command of English, both written and spoken
