The Cargo Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the LNG cargo plant on a modern LNG carrier. You will monitor cryogenic systems, manage cargo loading and discharge, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. The role requires close coordination with the deck and engine departments to maintain vessel stability and safety.

Daily duties include supervising cargo pumps, compressors and vapourisers, conducting routine inspections, and troubleshooting any equipment faults. You will prepare and verify cargo documentation, perform gas analyses, and oversee tank cleaning procedures. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will also participate in emergency drills and maintain accurate logbooks.

Requirements

  • OK- STCW 2/2 Cargo Engineer (Marine) Certificate with LNG endorsement
  • OK- Minimum 3 years experience as Cargo Engineer on LNG carriers
  • OK- Valid medical certificate and Seafarer’s Identity Document
  • OK- Proficiency in LNG cargo handling systems, safety procedures and emergency response
  • OK- Good command of English, both written and spoken
