The Chief Officer is a senior officer on a Container Ship responsible for overseeing cargo operations and deck maintenance. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master and other crew members to achieve this goal.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharging, maintaining deck equipment and cargo gear, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and participating in drills and training exercises. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular inspections of the vessel's deck and superstructure to identify and report any maintenance or repair needs.

Requirements
- OKHolder of a valid Chief Mate certificate of competency
- OKAt least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a container ship
- OKStrong knowledge of cargo operations, deck maintenance, and safety procedures
- OKAbility to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with crew members and shoreside staff
- OKHigh school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in a maritime-related field preferred
