The ETO will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all electrical and electronic equipment aboard a bulk carrier engaged in international dry‑cargo trades. This includes power generation, navigation, communication, automation and cargo handling systems.

Daily duties involve troubleshooting and rectifying faults, conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and keeping detailed technical logs. The officer will also support the chief engineer in planning outages and ensure compliance with classification society standards. Coordination with shore‑based technical support for spare parts and software updates is required.

Requirements

  • OKSTCW 95 and valid Electro‑Technical Officer Certificate of Competency
  • OKMinimum 2 years sea service as ETO on bulk carriers or similar vessels
  • OKProven experience with high‑voltage systems, generators and automation control
  • OKFamiliarity with IMO and classification society regulations for electrical equipment
  • OKGood command of English, both written and spoken
