The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance and performance of the main and auxiliary machinery on a crude oil tanker of over 80,000 dwt. You will ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and company policies while safeguarding the vessel’s propulsion and cargo handling systems.
Daily duties include supervising the engine department, planning and executing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting any mechanical failures that arise at sea. You will manage fuel consumption, monitor engine performance data, and coordinate repairs with the ship’s crew and shore support. Reporting to the Master, you will keep accurate technical logs and ensure all safety drills are conducted.

Requirements
- OK- Valid Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (STCW) for tankers
- OK- Minimum 5 years experience as Chief Engineer on crude oil tankers ≥ 80,000 dwt
- OK- Demonstrated ability to maintain main engine, auxiliary plant and cargo pump systems
- OK- Strong knowledge of MARPOL, ISM Code and vessel safety management systems
- OK- Effective leadership, communication skills and experience training junior engineers
